Literally: Rice “no”
👉 Means: Only rice, no side dishes, no soup, no extras.

👉 Cơm không + muối mè/ Plain rice + sesame salt
(Yes, people do this when on a diet… or out of cash 😅)
🥩 “Bò không”
“Bò không” = just the beef, no extras

- Bò không = just beef, no sides
- Thập cẩm không bò = everything except beef
What’s happening grammatically?
This “không” is a shortcut for “không có gì thêm” — no extras, no toppings, just the base item.
- Bánh mì không → bánh mì không có nhân gì hết
- Cơm không → cơm không có món ăn kèm
- Bò không → mỗi bò, không kèm thành phần khác
It’s like saying:

👉 “Only ____.”
