I’m Trân, a native of Southern Vietnam, currently based in Can Tho City.

I was born and raised in the river lands of the Mekong Delta, in the south of Vietnam. About 4 months ago I became frustrated with my learning progress. I didn't see much improvement yet I was studying for hours at home. I knew a lot of words, but I didn't know how to speak. Luckily, I found Tran Pham ! From the beginning Trân was helpful and professional. We met online and she provided very useful information about my Vietnamese skills. From there, my lessons were curated with my needs in mind. My pronunciation of the language was bad (of course). So, we practiced with that specific weakness in mind. We also had conversations about learning. At first we spoke about learning language methods and methods of instruction in order for us to agree on a strategy for my language journey. It was always an open discussion where feedback was appreciated. Trân's own thought process is that the learner should be the person who leads the learning journey. Their interests should be the topics explored in class, not the teachers. I happen to agree! Now, we speak about topics that allow us to speak for hours, sometimes over the agreed time limit of our session .
